Railing is one of the most visible parts of any deck, but finding the perfect choice from the thousands of decking and railing combinations available can be challenging. That’s why the design team at Trex recently developed a series of curated looks to simplify the process and turn the decision into a fun, interactive experience.

Trex’s new Decking & Railing Duos pairs our popular Transcend tropical decking colors with various railing combinations to help you make beautiful aesthetic selections with ease.

“Trex offers the most comprehensive railing portfolio in the industry with more than 1,200 possible decking and railing combinations, “ says Adam Zambanini, vice president of marketing for Trex. “While it’s nice to have choices, that’s simply too many options for anyone to consider, or even comprehend.”

This new feature, found at trex.com, provides a user-friendly way for you to explore the latest trends and find a perfectly paired look for virtually any outdoor living space.

When you visit the Duos page, select your choice of decking from the five Transcend tropical colors. You will be presented with three different looks - coordinated, contrasting and custom – each proven to work well with the decking you choose.

For example, when you select Trex Transcend decking in Island Mist -  a grey, streaked shade resembling driftwood -  you will be presented with the following options:

  • A “coordinated” look with a cocktail rail paired with crisp white posts and black aluminum balusters for an elegant, low country feel.
  • A “contrasting” look of all-white railing for a beachy, coastal vibe.
  • A “change-it-up” look of slim, all-black aluminum railing that’s both modern and inviting.
After you identify your favorite pairing, you can click on the “Get the Look” button to obtain a complete ordering guide and materials list to share with a deck contractor or to take to a retail outlet to place your order.
